Durban hospital opens specialised blood unit

Durban - Durban’s Netcare Umhlanga hospital has opened a state-of-the-art haematology unit. The facility will help with the diagnosis and treatment of different blood conditions from malignant conditions such as leukemia, myeloma and lymphoma, and bleeding disorders. “This new state-of the-art facility brings hope to patients suffering from blood disorders as well as a host of other chronic and acute conditions affecting the blood,” said Dr Richard Friedland, chief executive officer of the Netcare Group.
