Suspects shot after allegedly stealing chocolate

Durban - Police are investigating two counts of attempted murder after two men were shot for allegedly stealing chocolates from a supermarket in Newlands, Durban on Sunday. According to police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Thulani Zwane at around 1 pm, two males entered the shop under the influence of alcohol and allegedly stole a chocolate. They were approached by a security guard and they became violent towards the security guard. It appeared that one of them took out something from his pocket and the security fired a shot that wounded both the men. Both were taken to hospital for treatment. Newlands East SAPS are investigating two counts of attempted murder. The suspect, according to Zwane, was arrested shortly afterwards and his firearm was seized. He will appear in court soon, said Zwane. According to East Coast Radio police could not find any chocolates which is why the suspects were not arrested. Daily News
