Croatia: Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegovina - Severe weather update (MeteoBiH, DHMZ, Copernicus EMS, NOAA, media) (ECHO Daily Flash of 16 May 2019)

Heavy rainfall and strong winds continue to affect central and north-western Croatia (including Zagreb) and central and north-western Bosnia-Herzegovina. In Croatia, one person is reported dead in KrK Island (Primorje-Gorski Kotar County, north-western Croatia) and five people injured in Zagreb. In Bosnia-Herzegovina, one person is still missing in Žepce town (Zenica-Doboj Canton, Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina) and at least 15 people have been displaced in Kotor Varoš (Republika Srpska). Over the next 24 hours, moderate to locally heavy rain is forecast over northern and southwestern Croatia as well as over northwestern and southern Bosnia-Herzegovina. The European Commission #39;s Copernicus Emergency Management Service was activated on 14 May in rapid mapping mode (EMSR358) for northern Bosnia-Herzegovina and three satellite maps have been produced so far.
