Cat Matlala to testify at ad-hoc committee from prison Janine2 Mon, 11/10/2025 - 16:50 Vusimuzi Cat Matlala CAPE TOWN - Alleged crime boss and businessman Vusimuzi ‘Cat’ Matlala will appear before the parliamentary ad hoc committee to investigate allegations made by Lieutenant-General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi.The ad-hoc committee met virtually on Monday to adopt an interim report on the work completed, a report on outstanding consultations, and deliberate on a proposed programme going forward.The Madlanga Commission of Inquiry and Parliament s SAPS ad hoc committee probing corruption allegations have been running in parallel. Matlala remains behind bars. The High Court in Johannesburg denied his bail application on Monday morning. He will testify from Kgosi Mampuru C-Max prison.Matlala is an alleged Big Five cartel member. He will reportedly appear on 26-28 November 2025, but these dates are yet to be confirmed.
