It was the second fatal incident at that building, after twenty-year-old Andiswa Mantshongo fell to her death in a lift shaft while visiting a friend in 2023.A preliminary probe has found that the lift shaft the twins fell into was insufficiently secured. Things became blurred. I did not even know what to say. It was an extreme pain, which to this day I still feel. And I think it’s something I need to learn to live with. eNCA’s Nkosikhona Malinga-Mnisi spoke to Jomo Sibiya, Employment and Labour Deputy Minister who said that this was a preventable incident by the way . Sibiya has confirmed that they will speak to the Mantshongos, look into their case and offer all necessary assistance.
