This is to allow for deliberations on whether Thursday s witness should testify in camera or not. The commission was delayed again on Tuesday.READ: Madlanga Commission | Next witness to testify remotelyMedia publications Daily Maverick and News24 argue that the testimony of the sixth witness should be made public.The publications believe it s in the public interest and for transparency purposes.They say in-camera proceedings are a hindrance to that.Evidence leaders argue that a temporary closed session would allow the commission to obtain vital evidence without jeopardising parallel criminal proceedings – and safeguard witness confidentiality.They want proceedings to be held in camera until Friday.On Tuesday, the Madlanga Commission saw WhatsApp messages showing Rafadi asking Matlala to fund his PhD.Alleged crime boss Vusimuzi “Cat” Matlala paid for crime expert Calvin Rafadi s studies.Pretoria Magistrate Vusimuzi Mahlangu was informed that he had been implicated in the testimony of Lt General Mkhwanazi.eNCA s Pule Letshwiti-Jones spoke with Madlanga Commission spokesperson Jeremy Michaels.Michaels said the notice allows for Mahlangu to submit a written affidavit to counter the allegations, testify in person before the commission and even apply to cross-examine evidence implicating him.
