Manhunt launched after four killed inside home in KZN Ntandoyenkosi… Sat, 10/25/2025 - 12:30 KZN - A KwaZulu-Natal community is reeling after four people – including an elderly couple and a seven-year-old child – were shot dead in their home.They were gunned down in Esikhawini on Monday night, while a fifth person survived after fleeing the scene.Neighbours have been gathered at the home since the shooting.The only survivor, the father of the seven-year-old victim, is lucky to be alive. He said his son called out the name of one of the attackers before he was shot.“I ran out and went into the dark bushes and then into a house, where I found a group of men. I told them we were being attacked at home. I asked them to call the police. While I was with them, I could still hear the gunshots. So I think they wanted to wipe out everyone at home.” said the father.It’s believed four armed suspects attacked the home early on Monday evening. They killed the elderly man outside before storming the house. Inside, they shot his bedridden partner, the grandson and the caretaker.Local leaders are worried about the the prevalence of gun violence. A dispute among tenants led to three people being shot dead last month.Police are still piecing together the motive for the attack and information that could lead to those who pulled the trigger. The people of Madlankala are hoping for tighter security while the killers are still at large.
